CMC DETAILING
Terms & Conditions
Last updated: August 2026
These Terms & Conditions apply to services provided by
CMC Detailing. By booking or authorising work to be carried
out on your vehicle, you agree to these Terms & Conditions.
Services & Quotations
CMC Detailing provides vehicle detailing, valeting,
paint enhancement, machine polishing, ceramic coating,
interior cleaning, glass coating and associated
vehicle-care services.
Prices provided by CMC Detailing are based on the
information supplied by the customer and the condition
of the vehicle at the time of quotation.
Where the actual condition of a vehicle differs materially
from the information provided, CMC Detailing reserves the
right to revise the price before carrying out additional work.
Any additional work or charges will be discussed with the
customer where reasonably practicable and, where required,
approval will be obtained before additional chargeable work
is undertaken.
A quotation does not guarantee a particular cosmetic result
unless that result has been expressly agreed in writing.
Bookings & Appointments
A booking is considered confirmed once CMC Detailing has
accepted the booking and, where applicable, any required
deposit has been received.
Customers should ensure that the vehicle is available at
the agreed time and location.
For mobile appointments, CMC Detailing will make reasonable
efforts to arrive at the agreed appointment time. Traffic,
weather, previous appointments and other circumstances
outside of our reasonable control may occasionally cause delays.
Where a delay is expected to be significant, CMC Detailing
will make reasonable efforts to contact the customer.
If the customer is more than 30 minutes late making the vehicle
available, CMC Detailing may, depending on circumstances and
availability, continue with the appointment, reduce the scope
of the service, reschedule the appointment or cancel the appointment.
Cancellation & Rescheduling
We understand that circumstances can change. Customers should
provide at least 24 hours’ notice where they need to cancel
or reschedule an appointment.
Where less than 24 hours’ notice is provided, or where a
customer does not attend an appointment, CMC Detailing may
charge a cancellation fee or retain any deposit paid where
this has been communicated to the customer before booking.
Any cancellation charge will be reasonable and proportionate
to the loss incurred by CMC Detailing.
CMC Detailing reserves the right to waive a cancellation
charge where there are exceptional circumstances.
Where CMC Detailing needs to cancel or reschedule an appointment,
we will provide as much notice as reasonably practicable and
offer an alternative appointment where possible.
Payment
Payment is due on completion of the agreed service unless an
alternative arrangement has been agreed in advance.
CMC Detailing accepts the payment methods communicated to
the customer at the time of booking or invoicing.
The customer remains responsible for payment for all work
that has been authorised and completed.
Where additional work has been agreed, the additional charge
will be payable alongside the original service.
CMC Detailing reserves the right to suspend or decline further
services where an outstanding balance remains unpaid.
Nothing in these Terms & Conditions affects any statutory
rights the customer may have.
Additional Work
Services are priced according to the expected condition
of the vehicle.
Vehicles requiring substantially more work than anticipated
may require additional time or a revised quotation.
Examples may include excessive pet hair, heavy staining,
significant contamination, excessive mud or off-road
contamination, large amounts of personal belongings,
heavily soiled interiors or other conditions that could not
reasonably have been anticipated from the original information.
Where additional chargeable work is required, CMC Detailing
will explain the additional work and associated cost before
proceeding where reasonably practicable.
Unless otherwise agreed, additional labour is charged at the
applicable hourly rate communicated to the customer.
Vehicle Condition & Pre-existing Damage
The customer confirms that they are the registered keeper,
owner of the vehicle, or have authority from the owner
to authorise the services.
Customers should inform CMC Detailing of any known damage,
defects or existing issues before work begins.
CMC Detailing may photograph or document existing damage
before commencing work.
Detailing can reveal damage or defects that were previously
hidden by dirt, contamination, polish, waxes or other products.
Such defects may include scratches, swirl marks, stone chips,
dents, paint defects, previous repairs, lacquer damage,
peeling paint, trim damage, interior damage, staining and
general wear and tear.
CMC Detailing is not responsible for pre-existing damage
or defects that become visible during or after the service.
If CMC Detailing identifies a condition that may make the
requested service unsafe or unsuitable, we reserve the right
to stop or modify the service and discuss the available
options with the customer.
Paint Enhancement, Machine Polishing & Paint Correction
Paint enhancement and machine polishing are cosmetic processes
intended to improve the appearance of vehicle paintwork.
The level of improvement achievable depends on the condition,
thickness, hardness, history and quality of the vehicle’s paintwork.
CMC Detailing does not guarantee the removal of every scratch,
swirl mark, defect or imperfection unless a specific result
has been expressly agreed.
Some defects may be too deep to safely remove without removing
an excessive amount of clear coat or paint.
CMC Detailing will prioritise the safe treatment of the
vehicle’s paintwork rather than attempting to remove defects
at any cost.
Paint thickness may be assessed where appropriate before
undertaking more intensive paint correction work.
Customers acknowledge that previous repairs, resprays,
thin paint, lacquer failure or other unknown conditions
may affect the results that can safely be achieved.
Ceramic Coatings & Paint Protection
Ceramic coatings and other paint protection products are
applied in accordance with the manufacturer’s recommended
preparation and application procedures.
The stated durability of a coating is an expected product
lifespan under suitable conditions and maintenance. It is
not a guarantee that the coating will remain fully effective
for the entire stated period.
Coating performance depends on factors including vehicle use,
storage, environmental contamination, washing methods,
chemical exposure and maintenance.
Customers are responsible for following the aftercare
instructions provided by CMC Detailing.
The vehicle should not be washed or exposed to unsuitable
conditions during the initial curing period specified by
CMC Detailing or the coating manufacturer.
Ceramic coatings do not make paintwork immune to scratches,
stone chips, contamination or other physical damage.
CMC Detailing cannot guarantee that an existing paint defect
will be hidden or permanently corrected by application
of a coating.
Interior Cleaning & Stain Removal
Interior cleaning can significantly improve the appearance
and cleanliness of a vehicle, but CMC Detailing cannot
guarantee complete removal of every stain, odour or contamination.
Some stains may be permanent due to the material, age,
chemical reaction or nature of the contamination.
Excessive cleaning or aggressive treatment can damage certain
fabrics, plastics, leather, trim or other interior materials.
CMC Detailing will use reasonable care and appropriate products
and methods.
Existing damage, weakened materials, dye transfer, fading,
cracking, peeling or deterioration may become more apparent
following cleaning.
CMC Detailing is not responsible for pre-existing deterioration
or damage to interior materials.
Personal Belongings
Customers should remove all personal belongings and valuables
from the vehicle before the service begins.
CMC Detailing is not responsible for loss of or damage to
personal belongings left inside the vehicle, except where
liability cannot legally be excluded.
CMC Detailing may move reasonable items where necessary to
carry out the agreed service, but customers should not rely
on CMC Detailing to identify or safeguard personal possessions.
Large quantities of personal belongings may prevent certain
areas from being cleaned and may result in additional charges
if removal or handling has been specifically requested and agreed.
Mobile Detailing & Working Conditions
Where a service is carried out at the customer’s premises,
the customer must provide suitable access to the vehicle
and ensure that the working area is reasonably safe.
Where required for a particular service, the customer may
need to provide access to a suitable water supply, electricity
supply or other facilities. Any specific requirements will
be communicated before the appointment.
Certain services may not be suitable for completion in
adverse weather or unsuitable environmental conditions.
CMC Detailing may postpone, reschedule or modify a service
where weather, temperature, lighting, access or other
environmental conditions could affect the quality or safety
of the work.
CMC Detailing will make reasonable efforts to provide notice
of any required changes to an appointment.
Results & Customer Expectations
Vehicle detailing is a cosmetic service and results vary
depending on the starting condition of the vehicle.
CMC Detailing will provide an honest assessment of what
we believe can reasonably be achieved.
Customers should not expect every defect, stain, scratch,
odour or imperfection to be completely removed.
Where a service has a stated intended outcome, CMC Detailing
will carry out the service with reasonable care and skill
to achieve that outcome.
The customer accepts that vehicle age, previous maintenance,
materials, previous repairs and general wear and tear can
affect the final result.
Inspection & Collection
Customers are encouraged to inspect the vehicle on completion
of the service.
Any concerns should be raised with CMC Detailing as soon
as reasonably possible.
Where a concern relates to the quality of workmanship,
CMC Detailing will assess the issue and, where appropriate,
offer a reasonable opportunity to rectify the work.
Damage & Liability
CMC Detailing will carry out services with reasonable
care and skill.
Nothing in these Terms & Conditions excludes or limits
liability where doing so would be unlawful.
CMC Detailing is not responsible for pre-existing damage,
defects, deterioration or wear and tear.
CMC Detailing is not responsible for damage caused by an
existing weakness, defect, previous repair, aftermarket
modification or deterioration of a vehicle or its components,
where such damage could not reasonably have been identified
or prevented.
Where damage is alleged to have occurred during a service,
the customer should notify CMC Detailing as soon as reasonably
possible so that the circumstances can be investigated.
CMC Detailing reserves the right to inspect and investigate
any alleged damage before accepting responsibility or agreeing
to any remedial action.
Nothing in these Terms & Conditions affects rights and
remedies available to consumers under applicable UK consumer law.
Complaints
We want every customer to be satisfied with their vehicle
and the service provided.
If you are unhappy with any aspect of a service, please
contact CMC Detailing as soon as reasonably possible and
explain the issue.
We will investigate genuine complaints fairly and may
request photographs or an inspection of the vehicle.
Where a service has not been provided with reasonable care
and skill, CMC Detailing will consider an appropriate remedy
in accordance with applicable consumer law.
Customers should give CMC Detailing a reasonable opportunity
to inspect and, where appropriate, rectify an issue before
arranging third-party remedial work.
Photography & Marketing
CMC Detailing may take photographs or videos of vehicles
before, during and after services for quality-control and
record-keeping purposes.
Where appropriate, CMC Detailing may use photographs or
videos of completed work for marketing purposes, including
on its website and social media.
CMC Detailing will take reasonable steps to avoid publishing
personally identifiable information such as vehicle
registration numbers or customer information unless
permission has been provided.
Customers may request that photographs of their vehicle
are not used for marketing purposes.
Customer Information & Privacy
CMC Detailing may collect and use customer information
where reasonably necessary to provide services, manage
bookings, process payments, communicate with customers
and meet legal obligations.
Personal information will be handled in accordance with
CMC Detailing’s Privacy Policy.
Our Privacy Policy is available on the CMC Detailing website.
Changes to These Terms
CMC Detailing may update these Terms & Conditions
from time to time.
The Terms & Conditions applicable to a booking will be
those made available to the customer at the time of booking,
unless otherwise agreed.
The latest version of these Terms & Conditions will be
made available on the CMC Detailing website.
Governing Law
These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws
of England and Wales.
Any dispute will be subject to the applicable courts
of England and Wales, subject to any mandatory consumer
rights that apply.
